**NEW YORK** – The New York Times has released a sports-themed version of its popular word game, Connections, in collaboration with The Athletic. Connections: Sports Edition challenges players to identify common links between four words from a pool of sixteen, testing their knowledge of sports and related films.
The game, playable on web browsers and mobile devices, presents four color-coded categories of increasing difficulty (yellow, green, blue, and purple). Players can rearrange the words and have up to four attempts to correctly group the words in each category. Once a correct grouping is identified, those words are removed from the board. The game resets daily at midnight.
Today’s puzzle ( #160) included categories such as characters from *The Sandlot*, Kevin Costner films, sports films with numbers in their titles, and Best Picture-nominated sports films. (Solutions are available at the end of the original article, linked above).
Like Wordle, players can share their results on social media. The NYT provides hints and answers daily to assist players.
