**THOOTHUKUDI, March 4, 2025** – A new mini stadium was inaugurated today in Petmanagar, Srivaikundam Assembly constituency, Thoothukudi district. The opening, conducted via videoconference by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, marks another step in the state government’s initiative to provide each constituency with a dedicated sports facility.
The eight-acre facility includes a volleyball court, football ground, and running track. Minister for Fisheries Anita R. Radhakrishnan, who attended the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the importance of the stadium in identifying and nurturing rural sporting talent. He urged students to utilize the new resources to hone their skills.
District Collector K. Elambahavath, Srivaikundam MLA Oorvasi S. Amirtharaj, and District Sports Officer Antony Athirshtaraj were also present at the event.
