**Mysuru, March 4, 2025** – Microfinance institutions (MFIs) operating in Mysuru district have been directed to register with the government by the Deputy Commissioner, G. Lakshmikant Reddy. The mandate stems from the Karnataka Micro Loan and Small Loan (Prohibition of Coercive Actions) Ordinance 2025.
A meeting with MFI representatives was held at the Zilla Panchayat Auditorium, attended by the Deputy Commissioner, the Chief Executive Officer of Mysuru Zilla Panchayat S. Hukesh Kumar, and MFI representatives. The Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies has been designated as the nodal officer to facilitate the registration process. MFIs can obtain the necessary application forms from the nodal officer’s office.
