MUMBAI, INDIA – With the Champions Trophy cricket tournament underway, telecom provider Jio is capitalizing on the surge in streaming demand by offering several prepaid plans bundled with three months of free access to the newly launched JioHotstar streaming platform (formerly Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema).
Several plans offer a combination of data and the complimentary JioHotstar Mobile subscription. These include a ₹195 plan with 15GB of data and access to the ad-supported HD streaming service, a ₹299 plan (84-day validity) offering 2GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day alongside the streaming benefit, and other options ranging from ₹151 to ₹469, each providing varying amounts of data and the same streaming perk. The ₹469 plan, for instance, includes 2.5GB of daily data and additional nighttime data.
While Airtel and BSNL have reportedly also introduced plans including JioHotstar memberships, details remain scarce pending official updates to their websites. Jio’s aggressive bundling strategy aims to attract cricket fans seeking affordable access to the tournament’s live streaming.
