Tue Mar 04 06:25:00 UTC 2025: **ICAI Announces CA Intermediate and Foundation Exam Results; Low Pass Percentage Reported**

NEW DELHI – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) today released the results for the January 2025 Chartered Accountants (CA) Intermediate and Foundation examinations. A significantly low pass percentage was reported across both levels.

The pass percentage for the CA Intermediate exam was a mere 14.05%, with only 6,781 out of 48,261 candidates clearing both groups. Group 1 saw a 14.17% pass rate (15,332 out of 108,187 candidates), while Group 2 had a slightly higher pass rate of 22.16% (17,813 out of 80,368 candidates). Deepanshi Agarwal from Hyderabad topped the Intermediate exam with 86.83%, followed by Thota Somanadh Seshadri Naidu (86%) and Sarthak Agarwal (85.83%).

The CA Foundation exam also reported a low pass percentage of 21.52%, with no significant difference between male (21.27%) and female (21.27%) candidates. Candidates needed a minimum of 40 marks in each subject and 50% aggregate marks to pass the Foundation exam; those scoring over 70% received a “pass with distinction.”

The ICAI’s website, icai.nic.in, provides access to the results. Candidates can access their scorecards by logging in using their registration number and date of birth. The CA Intermediate exams were held from January 11 to 21, while the CA Foundation exam was conducted from January 12 to 18.
