**DUBAI, UAE** – The Dubai International Stadium will serve as the home base for the Indian cricket team throughout their participation in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy. Due to political and security concerns, the Men in Blue are unable to travel to Pakistan as originally scheduled. The stadium will host India’s crucial final Group A match against New Zealand, and is also slated to host the first semi-final, a guaranteed appearance for the two-time champions. Should India progress, Dubai will also host the final.
While Dubai’s daytime pitches can be challenging, the winter months offer optimal playing conditions. The pitch performed well during the India vs. Pakistan match earlier in the tournament, and officials expect a similarly high-quality ODI surface for upcoming matches after a week-long break.
