Mon Mar 03 23:42:00 UTC 2025: ## BJP Candidate Wins Telangana Legislative Council Election
**Karimnagar, Telangana – March 4, 2025** – Malka Komaraiah, the BJP-backed candidate, has won the Telangana Legislative Council elections for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ constituency. Komaraiah secured a decisive victory with 12,959 first preference votes, defeating his nearest rival, Vanga Mahender Reddy of the PRTU (TS), by a margin of over 5,700 votes. The final count, completed late Monday night, included approximately 897 invalid votes out of a total of 25,041 cast.
The counting process for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ constituency is still underway. Preliminary results show a surprisingly high number of invalid votes – approximately 8,000 out of roughly 100,000 counted by 9 p.m. Monday. A total of 250,106 votes were cast in this election on February 27th. Sources attribute many of the invalid ballots to voters using words instead of numbers to indicate their preferences, suggesting a lack of awareness about the preferential voting system. The final results for the Graduates’ constituency are expected within 24 hours.
