**New Delhi:** The Delhi Assembly witnessed heated exchanges and a walkout on Monday during a debate on the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report on public health infrastructure. Tensions escalated between ruling BJP and opposition AAP MLAs, culminating in the ejection of AAP MLA Anil Jha.
The conflict erupted as BJP MLA Ashok Goel criticized the previous AAP government’s handling of health services. Mr. Jha responded with remarks deemed unparliamentary by Speaker Vijender Gupta, leading to a verbal clash. Further fueling the controversy, BJP MLA Karnail Singh accused Mr. Jha of offending Hindu sentiments with a comment comparing the Assembly debate to a Ramleela performance.
Despite Speaker Gupta’s request for an apology, the situation deteriorated, with members from both sides speaking simultaneously. Ultimately, Mr. Jha was forcibly removed from the Assembly by marshals following instructions from the Speaker. The debate continued amidst the ongoing tension.
