**Hyderabad, March 4, 2025** – The All India Dental Students Association (AIDSA) has launched a nationwide campaign against dental quackery, urging dental councils across India to take immediate action. The association, along with its surgeons’ wing, submitted formal representations to the Dental Council of India (DCI) and state-level councils, highlighting the serious public health risks associated with unqualified practitioners.

AIDSA president M.D. Manzur emphasized the severe health hazards posed by dental quacks, including the spread of infections due to poor sterilization, the use of substandard materials, and misdiagnosis leading to permanent damage. The association cited oral cancer as a significant risk associated with unsafe practices.

The association cited the Telangana Medical Council’s efforts in combating quackery as a model for other states to emulate. AIDSA has appealed to governments, health authorities, and the public to support their campaign to eliminate this dangerous practice. The group is calling for stricter regulations and enforcement to protect patients from the dangers of unqualified dental care.
