Fri Feb 28 22:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Rainbow Wahine’s Winning Streak Snapped in Riverside

**Riverside, CA – February 27, 2025** – The University of Hawaii women’s basketball team (20-7, 14-3) had their 14-game winning streak broken today in a 61-51 loss to UC Riverside (14-14, 10-8) at SRC Arena. Despite the defeat, the Rainbow Wahine maintain their first-place position in the Big West Conference and still control their path to the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

UC Riverside secured a Big West Conference Championship bid with the victory, fueled by Hannah Wickstrom’s game-high 18 points. Three Highlanders reached double figures.

Hawaii, led by Imani Perez’s 12 points (including four three-pointers) and Lily Wahinekapu’s 10 points and seven rebounds, jumped out to an early 20-9 lead after the first quarter. However, they managed only 31 points for the remainder of the game, allowing UC Riverside to dominate the latter three quarters and secure the win. The Rainbow Wahine’s post players, Ritorya Tamilo and Brooklyn Rewers, struggled offensively, combining for only four points on 2-for-8 shooting.

UH will look to bounce back in their final regular season road game against UC Davis on Saturday.
