**Toronto, ON** – The Toronto Raptors have waived veteran forward P.J. Tucker, the team announced Friday. The move, a formality following a recent trade, opens up a roster spot for the Raptors.

Tucker, 39, was acquired earlier this month from the Los Angeles Clippers as part of a five-team trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors. He was not expected to join the Raptors and had not played this season, having requested a trade from the Clippers in February.

Originally drafted by the Raptors in 2006, Tucker played 41 games across two separate stints with the franchise. His extensive NBA career also includes time with the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, and Philadelphia 76ers. He won an NBA Championship with the Bucks in 2021. Tucker’s overall NBA career spans 883 games. The Raptors wish Tucker well in his future endeavors.
