Fri Feb 28 18:34:38 UTC 2025: **Hyderabad Family of Three Perishes in House Fire**
HYDERABAD, March 1, 2025 – A devastating fire at a Pasha Colony building in Neknampur, Narsingi, claimed the lives of three members of a family on Friday evening. A four-year-old girl, Sijira Khatoon, her mother Sahana Khatoon (30), and grandmother Jameela Khatoon (65) perished from asphyxiation.
The fire, believed to have originated from a short circuit in the ground floor electric meter box of the G+2 building, quickly spread, engulfing two CNG cars parked nearby. Twelve other residents were successfully rescued by firefighters, who responded to a distress call at 5:36 p.m. Three fire tenders were deployed, with the first arriving swiftly from Langar Houz.
Firefighters accessed the family’s first-floor apartment using a ladder, discovering the three victims unconscious. Despite being rushed to Golconda Area Hospital, they succumbed to their injuries. The family operated a convenience store, “Osman Kirana Store,” on the ground floor. The bodies were later transferred to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire, but preliminary findings point to the electrical short circuit.
