**KOCHI, March 1, 2025** – A fire completely destroyed Hotel Empire Plaza, a restaurant near the Kundannoor Bypass Junction in Kochi, on Friday night. While the eatery suffered extensive damage, fire officials confirmed no injuries.
The blaze, which began around 11 p.m. in the restaurant’s tandoori grill, quickly spread to the kitchen. However, swift action by firefighters from the Gandhi Nagar and Thrikkakara stations, along with assistance from rescue workers at a nearby mall, prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. K. Rajeshkumar, station officer of the Gandhi Nagar fire station, attributed the containment of the fire to the quick response and collaborative efforts. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
