**Vijayawada, March 1, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented a ₹3,22,359-crore budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, describing it as the foundation for the state’s reconstruction. The budget, presented by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav on February 28th, prioritizes welfare schemes and key sectors, aiming to realize the “Swarna Andhra 2047 Vision.”
Despite acknowledging financial challenges stemming from the previous government’s policies, Naidu highlighted the government’s success in reviving 74 out of 93 stalled Centrally-sponsored schemes and implementing welfare initiatives such as pension hikes, Anna Canteens, and the Deepam scheme within eight months.
The budget emphasizes holistic development, allocating significant funds to key sectors and welfare programs. While the government refrained from allocating funds to Amaravati, citing its self-sustaining nature, Minister Narayana stated that the city remains a driving force behind the state’s economic growth. Other key highlights include free electricity for all government schools, a policy praised by Nara Lokesh as revolutionary, and the relaunch of the Adarana scheme.
The Chief Minister emphasized the budget’s role in fulfilling the people’s aspirations and setting the stage for the “Swarna Andhra – 2047 Vision” with their cooperation. The budget’s ten guiding principles are aimed at achieving this ambitious goal.
