Sat Mar 01 00:10:37 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Budget Criticized for Lack of Clarity and Insufficient Funding

**Vijayawada, March 1, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year has been criticized by former Finance Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Buggana Rajendranath Reddy for its lack of clarity and insufficient allocation for key welfare schemes. Reddy described the budget, a ₹3.22 lakh-crore outlay, as a “jugglery of figures,” claiming inconsistencies in the numbers and insufficient funding for the government’s flagship “Super Six” initiatives.

Addressing the media on Friday, Reddy highlighted discrepancies in the figures presented for schemes like Annadata Sukhibhava, revealing a significant gap between the stated allocations and the actual requirements. He also accused the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition government of drastically underfunding the schemes and reducing the number of beneficiaries, mirroring tactics employed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Reddy contrasted the current budget with the YSRCP’s approach under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, emphasizing the party’s commitment to transparent and direct benefit transfers. He criticized the NDA government for its seemingly contradictory election promises and the subsequent dilution of welfare initiatives in the budget. The budget document itself, he noted, was visually appealing but lacked substantive clarity. The YSRCP leader expressed concern over the lack of detail on how funding shortfalls for the “Super Six” schemes will be addressed.
