Sat Mar 01 00:10:37 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh Budget Criticized for Lack of Clarity and Insufficient Funding**

Vijayawada, March 1, 2025 – The Andhra Pradesh budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year has been criticized by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy for its lack of clarity and insufficient funding for key welfare schemes. Reddy described the budget as a “jugglery of figures,” claiming inconsistencies in the numbers and insufficient allocation for the government’s “Super Six” initiatives.

Addressing the media on Friday, Reddy highlighted discrepancies between figures presented by the Finance and Agriculture Ministers regarding the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, citing a “yawning gap.” He stated that the allocated amounts for the “Super Six” schemes are far below the required levels, with no explanation provided in the budget for bridging this shortfall. He further alleged that the government plans to reduce the number of beneficiaries, mirroring practices of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Reddy also criticized the budget’s presentation, stating that despite its colorful appearance, it lacks clarity regarding the implementation details of schemes like Thalliki Vandanam, Deepam, and Annadata Sukhibhava. He contrasted the current government’s approach with the YSRCP’s welfare-oriented philosophy under former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, emphasizing the direct and timely benefit transfers implemented during that period. Reddy accused the current coalition government of making promises during the election campaign that were later neglected or diluted.
