**CHENNAI, February 28, 2025** – Chennai police have arrested three men for defrauding a fish vendor in Chintadripet. The men, identified as S. Paulraj alias Rohit (30), A. Chandrasekar (37), and C. Babu (30), posed as Health Department officials, collecting ₹15,800 from the vendor under the false pretense of issuing a shop license.
The scam was uncovered by a Greater Chennai Corporation license inspector, Loganathan, during a routine inspection of fish stalls. Following a complaint, police launched an investigation, leading to the arrests. Fake identification cards and license documents were seized from the suspects. The accused are currently in police custody.
