**Bengaluru, February 28, 2025** – The Markazi Ruiyat-e-Hilal (Moon Sighting) Committee announced Friday that the new crescent moon was not sighted, confirming that the holy month of Ramzan will commence on March 2nd. March 1st will be considered the 30th of Shabaan, the concluding month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The first day of fasting will therefore begin on Sunday, March 2nd. This announcement follows the committee’s observation process.
