**Pune, Maharashtra –** Pune Police have arrested Dattatray Gade (37), a repeat offender with a history of theft and robbery, for the alleged rape of a woman on a bus at Swargate bus station on February 25th, 2025. Gade, who had been out on bail since 2019 for previous offenses, was apprehended late Thursday night in Shirur Tehsil after a widespread manhunt involving thirteen police teams, sniffer dogs, and drones. The search focused on sugarcane fields in the area. Gade is facing charges of rape and has multiple prior convictions for theft, robbery, and chain-snatching in Pune and Ahilyanagar district.
