**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker, Vijender Gupta, has ordered a swift investigation into the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report exposing alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy. The report, tabled on Tuesday by CM Rekha Gupta, will be referred to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for a thorough examination and a final report within three months.

The CAG’s “Performance Audit Report on Regulation and Supply of Liquor in Delhi,” covering the period 2017-2021, highlights significant financial losses to the public exchequer due to alleged illegal profiteering by private firms. The report details irregularities, including violations in license awarding, inadequate quality control, and weak regulatory mechanisms, both before and after the implementation of the new excise policy.
