**Guwahati, Assam –** The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the CSIR UGC NET December 2024 examination in Assam. The exam, originally scheduled for February 28th, 2025, at Assam Down Town University, Guwahati, has been cancelled for the morning shift (Shift 1) due to unforeseen technical glitches affecting the Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences papers.
The NTA has not yet released a revised schedule for the affected candidates. A notification on the NTA website assures candidates that the new date, time, and venue details will be announced shortly. The agency apologized for the inconvenience caused and urged candidates to regularly check the NTA websites (www.nta.ac.in and https://csirnet.nta.ac.in) for updates.
The CSIR-UGC NET exam determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), assistant professor positions, and PhD admissions in Indian universities. While other dates for the examination remain unchanged for now, only the February 28th morning shift in Guwahati has been impacted by the technical issues.
