Fri Feb 28 02:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Maryland Women’s Basketball Rallies Past Indiana in Thrilling Fourth Quarter

**BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP)** — No. 19 Maryland overcame a persistent Indiana team to secure a 74-60 victory Thursday night, fueled by a dominant fourth-quarter performance from Shyanne Sellers. Sellers exploded for 21 of her game-high 25 points in the final period, hitting three three-pointers and all eight of her free throws. This offensive surge allowed the Terrapins to pull away from the Hoosiers, who managed only 21 points in the fourth.

Indiana, led by Yarden Garzon’s 18 points and Shay Ciezki’s 15, kept the game close throughout. A Garzon three-pointer late in the third quarter brought the Hoosiers within two points (39-37), but Sellers responded with a layup, igniting a decisive 15-5 run for Maryland. Although Indiana briefly cut the lead to six points with just over three minutes remaining, they were unable to mount a significant comeback.

Kaylene Smikle contributed 16 points for Maryland, including six in a strong second quarter that saw the Terrapins build a 10-point halftime lead (30-20). Christina Dalce added 11 points, and Allie Kubek grabbed 11 rebounds. Sellers’ consistent scoring continued, marking her 22nd double-digit scoring performance in 26 games this season.

The loss marks the second straight defeat for Indiana (17-11, 9-8), who have now lost four of their last six games. Maryland (22-6, 12-5), winners of three straight and five of their last six, will next face No. 12 Ohio State on Sunday. Indiana will conclude their regular season with a game at Purdue on Sunday.
