**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh –** The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, a massive religious gathering in Prayagraj, concluded Wednesday after a 45-day run, setting a new record with an estimated 660 million devotees taking a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. This surpasses even the population of the United States. The event drew a star-studded crowd, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Chief Ministers, prominent business leaders like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, Bollywood celebrities, and at least 118 diplomats from 77 countries.

The next Kumbh Mela will be held in Nashik, Maharashtra, from July 17 to August 17, 2027, at Trimbakeshwar on the banks of the Godavari River. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced plans to incorporate advanced technology into the 2027 event, aiming to offer a virtual experience of the holy dip for those unable to attend in person.

Kumbh Melas are rotated among Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik, and Ujjain, with at least one held every three years. The frequency varies, with events classified as Kumbh Mela (every four years), Ardh Kumbh Mela (every six years), and Purna Kumbh Mela (every twelve years).
