**Hyderabad, February 28, 2025** – Krishnan Kalpat, a 71-year-old photographer from Hyderabad, has spent a lifetime capturing stunning images of birds, wildlife, and architecture. His passion, ignited by his uncle, a renowned wildlife photographer, has led him to document approximately 500 bird species and subspecies across the globe.
Kalpat’s journey began with a childhood fascination for birds and a keen eye for detail, skills he honed through years of film processing and printing. His work has earned him international recognition, including the EFIAP distinction from the International Federation of Photographic Art and the EFIP Award from the Federation of Indian Photography. He’s also won numerous medals in photography salons and has seen his work featured in publications like a New York magazine.
Among his most prized photographs are a striking image of a temple elephant partially obscured by a granite pillar and an architectural shot from New York City selected from over 15,000 submissions for a National Geographic assignment.
Despite his impressive achievements, Kalpat shows no signs of slowing down. He plans to travel to South America to photograph rare avian species and considers Kenya a favorite destination. He credits his success to a unique vision that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. His work continues to inspire awe and wonder in viewers, showcasing the beauty found in both the natural world and human creation.
