**New Delhi, February 27, 2025** – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced the seizure of approximately ₹17.20 crore worth of cryptocurrencies following raids on six locations in Haryana. The operation targeted a cryptocurrency investment scam allegedly orchestrated by Mahesh Kumar and his associates. The seized crypto assets were held across multiple wallets accessed via various apps on mobile phones, also seized during the searches.
The ED’s investigation stems from a First Information Report filed by Haryana Police and a complaint from a victim. Authorities allege Kumar, from Hisar, and three accomplices from Bhiwani lured investors with promises of high returns on cryptocurrency investments. The investigation is ongoing.
