**Mysuru, February 28, 2025** – The CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) in Mysuru celebrated National Science Day with an inauguration by eminent scientist T. Ramasami. Ramasami, former Director of CSIR-CLRI and Secretary of DST, delivered a lecture titled “A well-wisher peep into the centenary of CFTRI,” focusing on how the institute can contribute to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
During the ceremony, awards were presented to 19 staff members, scientists, students, and research fellows for their outstanding contributions. The Department of Microbiology and Fermentation Technology received recognition for its overall achievements, and technologies for millet and multi-millet products were highlighted for successful technology transfer to the industry.
CFTRI Director Sridevi Annapurna Singh outlined the institute’s accomplishments and its journey in becoming a leading food technology research facility in the country. The event was part of the CSIR-CFTRI Platinum Jubilee Lecture Series 2024-25. Ramasami, a recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards, emphasized the importance of aligning CFTRI’s research with the national goal of “Viksit Bharat.”
