Fri Feb 28 16:18:01 UTC 2025: ## Telangana’s Mamnoor Airport Development Approved

**Hyderabad, Telangana –** The Ministry of Civil Aviation has granted a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the development of Mamnoor Airport near Warangal, Telangana. This follows a one-time waiver of an exclusivity clause in the Hyderabad International Airport’s concession agreement, which restricts new airport development within a 150km radius for 25 years. The NOC was issued after approval from GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL).

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that the project will boost trade, tourism, and employment in the region, highlighting Warangal’s potential as a major regional hub. The Telangana government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has already allocated ₹205 crores for land acquisition (280.30 acres) to support the airport’s development under the UDAN scheme, in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The airport is planned to accommodate Airbus 320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

The Ministry clarified that the NOC applies only to Mamnoor Airport and will not impact future projects within the 150km exclusivity zone. Minister Naidu previously pledged to improve air connectivity in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, mentioning plans for the Bhogapuram airport and improved connectivity for other airports in the region.
