**Palghar, Maharashtra –** A 29-year-old man, Akshay Patil, has been arrested for allegedly attacking his 23-year-old fiancée at her workplace in Palghar district, police said Friday. Patil was apprehended on Thursday following a complaint filed by the victim.
Police have charged Patil under section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, involved a sharp weapon and left the woman hospitalized with injuries.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a year-long delay in their wedding and restrictions placed on their outings. Angered by this, Patil reportedly went to his fiancée’s workplace and carried out the assault. The investigation is ongoing.
