Fri Feb 28 12:02:16 UTC 2025: ## AIADMK to Participate in Tamil Nadu Delimitation Meeting, Raises Concerns Over Law and Order
**Salem, Tamil Nadu –** AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami announced Friday that his party will participate in an all-party meeting on March 5th, convened by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, to discuss the impact of the proposed delimitation of parliamentary constituencies on Tamil Nadu. The meeting follows concerns that the exercise could reduce the number of seats allocated to South Indian states. Mr. Palaniswami stated that two AIADMK representatives will attend and present the party’s position.
During a press interaction following the inauguration of an AIADMK-organized blood donation camp in Salem, Mr. Palaniswami also criticized the state’s law and order situation. He alleged a rise in hooch and drug sales, despite the AIADMK’s previous appeals to the government. He further highlighted the frequent reports of sexual assault and expressed concern over the safety of schoolchildren, particularly given alleged teacher involvement in such crimes. He called for greater government awareness initiatives to protect children.
While commenting on police action against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman, Mr. Palaniswami stated he lacked details but emphasized the importance of unbiased, lawful police conduct. He concluded by expressing confidence in the AIADMK’s return to power in the 2026 elections. The blood donation camp saw approximately 700 party functionaries participate.
