**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** The Andhra Pradesh government unveiled its annual budget for 2025-26 on Friday, prioritizing welfare schemes with a significant allocation towards various social programs. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav announced the relaunch of the ‘Adarana’ scheme, providing modern tool kits to artisans and craftsmen with a ₹1,000 crore allocation.

Key highlights of the budget include the implementation of two major election promises: ‘Thalliki Vandanam,’ offering ₹15,000 to each student (grades 1-12) in a family, deposited directly into mothers’ accounts (₹9,407 crore allocated); and ‘Annadata Sukhibhava,’ providing ₹20,000 to every farmer (₹6,300 crore allocated).

Further welfare initiatives include a hike in financial aid for fishermen during the fishing ban period from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 (₹450 crore allocated for fishermen, weavers, and barbers), and the expansion of the Health Insurance Scheme to cover every family with a ₹25 lakh sum insured. Significant funds were also allocated to the Women, Children, Differently Abled and Senior Citizens Welfare Department (₹4,332 crore), SC communities (₹20,281 crore), ST communities (₹8,159 crore), BC communities (₹47,456 crore), and minority communities (₹5,434 crore).

The budget reflects the government’s commitment to its Swarnandhra-2047 vision, focusing on the welfare of weaker sections of society and the implementation of manifesto assurances.
