As of late afternoon, 16 workers have been rescued, according to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The avalanche struck a BRO camp between Mana and Badrinath, burying the workers under snow. Mana, located at an altitude of 3,200 meters, is the last village on the India-Tibet border. Rescue efforts are underway, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) deployed despite challenging weather conditions, including continued snowfall and rain.
