Wed Feb 26 12:37:39 UTC 2025: ## Indian Air Force Stages Spectacular Air Show at Maha Kumbh Mela’s Close

**Prayagraj, India** – The 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj concluded Wednesday with a spectacular air show by the Indian Air Force (IAF) over the Kumbh Mela grounds. The event, which drew an estimated 65 crore (650 million) devotees, marked the final “Amrit Snan” (holy dip) of the religious gathering.

The IAF’s aerial maneuvers provided a fitting finale to a Kumbh Mela lauded for its exceptional crowd management and security. Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police, Prashant Kumar, credited a combination of world-class technology, artificial intelligence, and unprecedented collaboration between various agencies for the smooth operation. He highlighted the efficient use of railway services, transporting up to 500,000 devotees on peak days.

Kumar stated that the security model implemented was “unprecedented,” noting the successful management of massive crowds at religious sites across the state, including Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Vindhyavasini Devi, following the Kumbh Mela. The event concluded without any major incidents. Security measures will remain in place for several more days as authorities dismantle the infrastructure.

Devotees expressed overwhelming joy at participating in the final day’s ceremonies, many citing the spiritual significance of the Maha Shivaratri celebration. Drone footage captured the immense crowds taking the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13th, featured several key “Amrit Snan” days throughout its duration.
