KOCHI, Kerala – February 27, 2025 – Seven young men were arrested in Kochi on Tuesday, February 25, following a police raid at a lodge in Ponnurunni. The Palarivattom police seized approximately 24.4 grams of suspected MDMA, 37.1 grams of suspected ganja, eight mobile phones, ₹9,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia, including a digital weighing machine and zip-lock bags.
The arrested individuals, aged between 27 and 32, are from various locations in and around Kochi and Kottayam. Police believe the drugs were smuggled from Bengaluru and that the group had gathered to sell them. The suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and the investigation is ongoing.
