**Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu – February 27, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government has provided financial assistance to the family of K. Jayalalitha, a 40-year-old woman who died following a workplace accident. Jayalalitha, a resident of Sangamviduthi village, suffered a fatal head injury on February 21st when her sari became entangled in a machine at the State Seed Farm in Vellalaviduthi.
She was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on February 26th.
Law Minister S. Regupathy, on behalf of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, presented a cheque for ₹3 lakh (approximately $3,600 USD) to Jayalalitha’s legal heir from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. The presentation was made in the presence of Pudukottai Collector M. Aruna. Chief Minister Stalin expressed his condolences to the family.
