Thu Feb 27 00:01:40 UTC 2025: ## Kishor Backs Tamil Nadu’s TVK, Calls its Chief ‘New Hope’ for State Politics

**Chennai, India** – Political strategist Prashant Kishor has thrown his considerable weight behind the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Addressing TVK’s one-year anniversary celebrations Wednesday, Kishor declared TVK chief, Vijay, a “new hope” for the state, representing a movement for change against the existing political order.

Kishor, who serves as an advisor to Vijay, praised Vijay’s strategic acumen, stating that he doesn’t require his assistance in this area. He sharply criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, accusing it of prioritizing “corruption, dynasty, and communalism” over development.

Vijay, meanwhile, addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the three-language policy, dismissing the state and central government’s conflict as childish bickering. He criticized the halting of education funds to the state and condemned the BJP and DMK for engaging in superficial political hashtags instead of addressing critical issues. He further emphasized TVK’s commitment to building a strong organizational structure from the grassroots up, recruiting functionaries from humble backgrounds and explicitly rejecting the involvement of “landlords” in politics. Vijay stated that TVK’s primary goal is to remove those focused solely on personal gain from the political landscape.
