Thu Feb 27 00:50:00 UTC 2025: **YCP Leader Posani Krishna Murali Arrested for Abusive Remarks**

Hyderabad, India – Posani Krishna Murali, a YSR Congress Party (YCP) leader and film actor, was arrested late Wednesday night for making abusive and obscene remarks against TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh, and their family members. The arrest follows a complaint filed two days prior by a Jana Sena leader, Jogineeni Mani, alleging that Murali’s comments incited communal disharmony within the film industry.

The arrest took place at Murali’s residence in Hyderabad. He reportedly resisted arrest, engaging in a heated argument with police officers from Obulavavaripalli Police Station in Annamayya district, where the case was filed. Murali’s alleged refusal to cooperate with the police included claims of illness and demands for prior notice.

The case against Murali, registered under sections 196, 353(2), and 111 read with 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), accuses him of promoting enmity between different groups, spreading false information, and engaging in organized crime. The comments, reportedly made during the previous YCP government’s tenure, allegedly received tacit support from party leaders. Murali was even appointed chairman of APFTVDC during that time.

Murali’s arrest comes after he publicly announced his retirement from politics last November, ostensibly in response to the numerous cases filed against him across the state following the change in government. He will be produced before the Rajampet court. The police investigation is ongoing.
