**Santa Fe, NM** – Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, renowned for his role in *The French Connection*, has died at the age of 95. Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa (64), were found deceased in their New Mexico home Wednesday afternoon during a welfare check conducted by Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies. A family dog was also found dead at the scene.

Authorities have stated that foul play is not suspected at this time, although the exact cause of death remains undetermined. The sheriff’s office is currently conducting an ongoing investigation.

Hackman, a five-time Academy Award nominee, enjoyed a prolific career spanning over eight decades and more than 80 films.
