**Erode, Tamil Nadu, February 27, 2025** – Police in Erode have detained a suspect in connection with the murder of 28-year-old air conditioning mechanic R. Sridhar. Sridhar was found dead in his home on Wednesday evening by his wife, Sowmya, upon her return from work.
Preliminary investigations suggest the murder may stem from a prior altercation. Three days before the incident, Sridhar reportedly had a verbal dispute with friends Balamurugan and Tamilarasan after consuming alcohol, leading to a police complaint filed by Balamurugan.
The Erode Taluk police are investigating the case. Erode Town Deputy Superintendent of Police M. Muthukumaran inspected the crime scene. Sridhar’s body was sent for autopsy. The suspect is currently being questioned.
