Thu Feb 27 15:28:49 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh to Unveil ₹3 Lakh Crore Budget
**Vijayawada, February 27, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government will present its budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year on Friday, February 28th. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav will unveil the general budget, while Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu will present a separate agriculture budget, a longstanding practice in the state.
The total budget outlay is expected to be between ₹3 lakh crore and ₹3.10 lakh crore. A significant portion, over ₹1.30 lakh crore, is earmarked for “committed expenditure,” including salaries, pensions (₹33,000 crore annually for 64 lakh recipients), loan repayments, and interest payments.
The budget is highly anticipated, particularly regarding the fulfillment of electoral promises under the “Super Six” initiative by the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP). While the government is likely to include provisions for *Thalliki Vandanam* (₹15,000 annual aid to mothers sending children to school) and the *Rythu Bharosa* farmer support scheme (₹20,000 annually, partly funded by the central government’s PM-KISAN), other promises remain uncertain. These include monthly financial assistance for women and free bus travel for women.
Funding for the ambitious Godavari-Banakacherla interlinking river project (estimated at ₹80,112 crore) is also unclear. However, provisions are expected for the fishermen community, potentially fulfilling a TDP promise of ₹20,000 per family during fishing bans.
The government has already implemented some “Super Six” promises, including free gas cylinders and the relaunch of Anna Canteens. The 2024-25 budget totalled ₹2,94,427.25 crore, with a revenue deficit of ₹34,743.38 crore and a fiscal deficit of ₹68,742.65 crore.
