**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for MSMEs, Rural Poverty Alleviation, and NRI Empowerment, Kondapalli Srinivas, has called for increased earnings for Self-Help Group (SHG) members and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) through product value addition. In a Thursday meeting with SERP officials and representatives from Farmveda, Millet Bank, Capital Management Services, and Flipkart, the Minister emphasized strategies to boost market value and income for SHG women producers.
Discussions centered on action plans to increase market prices for SHG and FPO products. Representatives from the private sector presented proposals focusing on value addition and income enhancement for farmers. Minister Srinivas stressed the importance of aligning these initiatives with the needs of SHG and FPO members.
A key outcome of the meeting was the planned signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between SERP and the participating companies. These MoUs aim to improve market access and financial benefits for SHG and FPO members. The initiatives are expected to significantly improve the economic prospects of rural communities in Andhra Pradesh.
