**Bengaluru, February 27, 2025** – Fourteen members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike were booked by Vidhana Soudha police on Monday for protesting alleged corruption in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) exam. The protestors, who claim the exam unfairly disadvantaged Kannada-medium candidates, disrupted traffic and attempted to blockade the KPSC office, defying a High Court order prohibiting such demonstrations. Despite prior warnings, including phone calls informing them of the denial of permission, the protestors went ahead with their demonstration and were subsequently detained. Police charged them under sections 126, 189, and 190 of the Indian Penal Code. The protest involved shouting slogans and a general disruption of public order.
