**Melbourne, February 27, 2025** – Cricket Australia (CA) announced today that former Australian cricketer David Boon will join its board on March 28th. Boon, 64, will step down as an ICC match referee after the ongoing Champions Trophy to take up the position. He currently chairs the Cricket Tasmania board and will represent them on the CA board, succeeding Paul Green.
Boon boasts a distinguished career, having played 107 Test matches and 181 ODIs for Australia, scoring over 13,000 international runs. He was a member of Australia’s 1987 World Cup winning team and served as a national selector from 2000 to 2011. His experience as an ICC match referee since 2011 will provide valuable insight into the evolving landscape of international cricket.
