Wed Feb 26 20:30:00 UTC 2025: ## ED Raids Visa Consultants in Punjab and Chandigarh Over Fraudulent US Visa Scheme

**New Delhi, February 27, 2025** – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches across five business and residential premises in Chandigarh and Ludhiana on Wednesday, targeting a network of visa consultants allegedly involved in a large-scale fraud scheme facilitating fraudulent US visas.

The raids, carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), focused on Red Leaf Immigration Private Limited, Overseas Partner Education Consultants, Infowiz Software Solution, and other associated entities. The investigation stems from First Information Reports (FIRs) filed by Delhi and Punjab police based on a complaint from the US Embassy in Delhi’s Office of Overseas Criminal Investigations.

The ED alleges that the consultants forged educational certificates and experience letters for ineligible visa applicants aiming to study or work in the United States. They also allegedly deposited funds into applicants’ accounts to meet minimum balance requirements for visa applications, charging substantial commissions in the process.

During the searches, the ED seized incriminating documents, digital devices, and ₹19 lakh in cash. The agency states that the proceeds of the alleged crime were further invested in acquiring movable and immovable properties and diverted into various bank accounts. The ED investigation is ongoing.
