Thu Feb 27 15:38:18 UTC 2025: ## CPI(M) Urged to Intervene in 18-Day-Long ASHA Workers’ Strike in Kerala
**Palakkad, Kerala – February 27, 2025** – Porattam chairman M.N. Ravunni has called on the CPI(M) leadership in Kerala to immediately intervene and pressure the state government to resolve the ongoing ASHA workers’ strike, now in its 18th day.
Ravunni criticized the CPI(M)’s inaction, stating that the party should uphold its past commitments to the working class and address the ASHA workers’ demands. He challenged the party’s integrity, saying, “If you can’t do justice to the ASHAs, you better abandon the red flag you uphold.”
ASHAs, community health workers crucial to Kerala’s rural healthcare system, are striking for what Ravunni described as “moderate and reasonable demands” focused on securing a dignified livelihood. The strike continues to disrupt healthcare services across the state.
