**NEW YORK** – Actress and television personality Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in numerous television series and films, has died at the age of 39. Trachtenberg was found deceased at her New York City home Wednesday morning by her mother. Emergency responders confirmed her death. Police have ruled out foul play.
Trachtenberg, who was born in New York City in 1985 to a German father and a mother from the former Soviet Union, had been ill recently and had undergone a liver transplant. She was fluent in Russian. Her career began at the age of three with commercials, progressing to roles in children’s television before transitioning to feature films in 1996 with “Harriet the Spy.” She is best remembered for her roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Gossip Girl,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and films such as “EuroTrip,” “Sleepy Hollow,” and “Ice Princess.”
