Wed Feb 26 08:27:41 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru’s Teen Prahar Classical Music Festival Returns

**Bengaluru, February 26, 2025** – The renowned Teen Prahar classical music festival is set to grace Bengaluru once again. Now in its 18th edition, the festival will take place on February 27th at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. Known for its unique three-part structure mirroring the day’s time zones (Teen Prahar, meaning “three time zones” in Sanskrit), the festival brings together established masters and promising young talent.

This year’s lineup includes a performance by the Shishya’s Collective Ensemble, featuring young musicians showcasing their skills. The evening will then feature a sitar recital by Ustad Shujaat Khan, a leading exponent of the instrument. Ustad Khan emphasizes the importance of live performance, highlighting the unique energy exchange between artist and audience that cannot be replicated in a studio setting. He explained that raga selection is based on tradition, with specific ragas associated with different times of day.

The festival will conclude with a performance by Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, a celebrated Hindustani classical vocalist. Teen Prahar is also celebrated for its commitment to reviving lesser-known musical traditions and showcasing rare instruments, enriching the experience for both performers and attendees.

Tickets are available on BookMyShow. The festival begins at 6 pm on February 27th at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
