**Kozhikode, February 26, 2025** – Puthiyottil Ajayan of the Congress secured a victory in the Kunjallur ward by-election in Purameri grama panchayat, Kozhikode district. Ajayan, representing the United Democratic Front (UDF), garnered 619 votes, defeating K.V. Vivek of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) from the Left Democratic Front (LDF) who received 599 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Mithun secured 30 votes. A total of 1,248 votes were cast out of a total electorate of 1,523.
