Tue Feb 25 19:08:34 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Gets New Flyover and Footbridge

**CHENNAI, February 26, 2025** – Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated a ₹27.5-crore U-turn flyover near Chennai’s Tidel Park Junction on Rajiv Gandhi Salai today. The 510-meter-long, 8.5-meter-wide flyover features three arms, improving traffic flow for vehicles traveling to Madhya Kailash and Taramani CSIR Road from Thiruvanmiyur. Construction, which began in October 2020, following administrative sanction in November 2019, alleviates congestion at the busy junction. This is the second such U-shaped flyover on OMR, following a similar project in Indira Nagar inaugurated in November 2023.

Simultaneously, Stalin also opened a new ₹11.30-crore Foot Over Bridge (FOB) connecting West Avenue Road in Thiruvanmiyur to the MRTS station and the IT Corridor. The 155-meter-long, 5.25-meter-wide bridge, equipped with escalators, enhances pedestrian safety and convenience.

The inaugurations were attended by Highways Minister E. V. Velu, Health Minister Ma. Subramanian, and MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian.
