Tue Feb 25 15:58:28 UTC 2025: ## Thunchan Literary Festival to Honour M.T. Vasudevan Nair
**Malappuram, Kerala – February 25, 2025** – The annual Thunchan literary festival, beginning Thursday, will pay tribute to the late renowned Malayalam writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair. The five-day event, titled ‘Pranamam MT Thunchan Utsavam,’ will be inaugurated by Tamil writer Sivasankari.
Vaisakhan, chairman of the Thunchan Memorial Trust and successor to M.T. Vasudevan Nair, will preside over the opening ceremony. Other highlights include a book festival inaugurated by MP M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, the MT Memorial lecture by V. Madhusoodhanan Nair, and competitions for students including an instant poetry composition contest and a literary quiz. A poets’ meet will also be held.
The festival will also feature an arts component, inaugurated by film actor Vineeth. Students will showcase the works of M.T. Vasudevan Nair through dance performances, and dancer Gayatri Madhusoodhanan will present a Mohiniyattam dance programme.
