Wed Feb 26 15:04:03 UTC 2025: ## Telangana to Build ₹4,030 Crore Greenfield Expressway

**Hyderabad, February 26, 2025** – The Telangana government announced plans for a new ₹4,030 crore (approximately US$490 million) expressway, to be named Ratan Tata Road. The 41.5-kilometer Greenfield Radial Road will connect the Tata Interchange on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amangal.

The project, entrusted to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), will be constructed in two phases. Phase I, costing ₹1,665 crore, will cover 19.2 kilometers, while Phase II will cover the remaining 22.3 kilometers at a cost of ₹2,365 crore.

Designed as a 100-meter-wide access-controlled expressway with a six-lane carriageway (expandable to eight lanes), the road will include a central median for future metro or railway lines. The project also incorporates service roads, greenbelts, cycle tracks, footpaths, and utility corridors.

The HMDA/HGCL has invited bids from agencies, with tender documents available from February 28th. Technical bids will be opened on March 21st. The expressway is expected to significantly improve connectivity and transportation infrastructure in Rangareddy district, passing through six mandals and 14 villages.
